Bounce Better

Everyone talks about bouncing back.

Everyone talks about bouncing back.

Bounce back after birth.
Bounce back after failure.
Bounce back after burnout.
Bounce back after loss.
Bounce back after rejection.

But why would I want to go back?

Right now, I'm a few months postpartum. I have a newborn. A toddler. A growing business. Bigger opportunities. Bigger goals. More responsibility. More decisions.

Alongside all of that, I have a new level of health, strength, leadership, and longevity I want to reach. I know there is another level available to me.

Marshall Goldsmith said it best:

"What got you here won't get you there."

The version of me that got here can't take me where I want to go next.

She got me here. I respect the hell out of her. But this next chapter requires something different.

More strength. More patience. Better boundaries. Deeper recovery. Stronger systems. Greater perspective. A healthier relationship with pressure.

I think one of the biggest traps we fall into is treating hard seasons like interruptions instead of part of the assignment.

Something difficult happens and immediately we ask:

How do I get back to normal?

How do I feel like myself again?

How do I go back to before?

But what if the hard thing isn't in the way?

What if it is the way?

Motherhood stretches me.

Entrepreneurship stretches me.

Leadership stretches me.

Growth stretches me.

The seasons that have changed me the most have rarely looked graceful.

They looked messy. Exhausting. Uncertain. Humbling.

And yet every meaningful chapter of my life has required me to become someone new.

Life will continue to ask more of us.

The question isn't whether life gets heavier. It does.

The question is whether you're building the capacity to carry it.

Instead of asking:

How do I get back?

Ask:

Who do I need to become?

What support do I need?

What systems need to exist?

What habits no longer serve me?

What standards need to rise?

Because growth isn't about returning. It's about expanding.

It's about building the strength, resilience, and perspective required for what's next. The old version of you got you here…
Honor them.

Thank them.

Then build the next version.

Practice Until Next Week

Where in your life are you trying to get back instead of grow forward?

What is this season asking you to become?

Do the work,
Megan
